[CT-NFB] Early Voting Question?

Hello Everyone,   I also did the early voting. I had to go to the Municipal Center. The polling place was set up in a conference room on the main floor. When I arrived they escorted me to the table where the phone was set up. After my ballot printed, like Mary, I folded it and placed it in an envelope, signed it, and then I was  led to the ballot box where  I put it a second envelope sealed it and placed it in the box. I never felt my privacy was violated. Everything was done very well.

Vision loss can be emotionally overwhelming. In this episode, we chat with a clinical psychologist who is legally blind herself, Dr. Ann Wagner. She shares how learning from and connecting with our emotions can bring about healing and transformation.

Dear Federation Family,

Marci Carpenter called me to say she has vertigo and will not be able to
join us next weekend. President Riccobono is sending Chris Danielsen,
Director of Communication in her place. Let us give him the warm Connecticut
welcome we would have given Marci. I'll see many of you next Friday

As you may know the coming presidential election early voting started on 21 November and goes through November 3. I am interested to know if anyone has tried this and whether or not they felt that their privacy was compromised by having to put their vote in an envelope or if they were able to do that privately and securely? Thank you.

Hello Everyone,
Early voting began on October 21st, statewide.
Yesterday, I voted in West Hartford. The ONLY polling place was at Town
Hall, as in many other towns.
The auditorium served as the polling site.  From the entrance  and through
the building, signage was clear.
Once inside, everything was set  up  appropriately to ensure privacy for
ALL voters.  I was escorted to the accessible voting area, where everything
was set up and ready.  Whe my ballot came out of the printer, I was given
an official envelope to  sign, date  and  seal  myself.  We then walked
over to the table where I was given another envelope to  enclose the first
envelope which contained my marked ballot.  My name was again checked off
on the list that I had indeed voted.  ALL of the ballots will be stored
securely in the vault and will not be  opened or counted until Election Day
on November 5th.  The moderator made sure I had what I needed and took me
through a few  procedural steps which  were used for this one central site
for early voting.  It was a smooth, efficient , dignified and very
pleasant  experience.

Because  of the referendum  in last year's election, we were able to vote
early this year.  There was an even  and steady  flow of voters.  This was
MUCH LESS stressful than having to stand in line in a crowd, waiting to
vote on  one day.
This year, the referendum asks us to vote yes or no  for "NO EXCUSE"
absentee voting.  As you all know, NFB is working hard to allow  electronic
ballot marking  for both  absentee  ballot delivery and return.

Yes, the wheels of government and bureaucracy  move slowly but they do MOVE.
Try early voting and see how you like it.

Mary Silverberg

Wow Deb, you?re totally right. This episode was awesome. I wish I could
speak to her directly. I?m not sure exactly how to process all that she
says, but I understand where she?s coming from and would love to discuss
some of it with other people. Maybe it?s worth Devoting a whole chapter
meeting too. Then we can just discuss it all afterwards between ourselves.
Just a thought.

Maryanne and All,

Also wishing Marci well; I have had the pleasure of working with her on a couple of Federation initiatives, she is a tireless and very thoughtful leader, and I hope we?ll get to host her in Connecticut another year soon.

I really look forward to hosting Chris Danielsen. He is articulate, and I think he is awesome at representing us well in our public and media relations efforts. I especially look forward to hearing his stories and experiences over his three or more decades in the Federation.

Looking forward to seeing so many of you in a little over a week,

Nathanael
