 REACH THE SUMMIT - Adaptive Kayaking Event provided by Summit Adaptive Sports, Inc.
This event provides Kayaking for People with Vision Loss on the Farmington River

Date: Aug 12, 2025

Time: Flexible Start Times Starting: 4:00 PM,  4:30 PM or  5:00 PM

Duration: 1.5 hour paddle

Location: Collinsville Canoe & Kayak at 41 Bridge Street, Collinsville, CT.  We will kayak on a quiet water section of the Farmington River.

Cost: There is no cost to participate.  This program was made possible by a grant from the John E. Blair Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

This adaptive kayaking event is designed to provide individuals with vision loss the opportunity to explore the outdoors in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment. Whether you're a beginner or experienced paddler, our trained guides and accessible equipment will ensure a fun and inclusive adventure for all.



Important Information:

● RSVP is required and can be completed at: summitadaptive.org/events-lessons
● After RSVPing, you’ll receive an Athlete Registration Form and waivers to complete via the email you provided. These must be completed before the event.
● Trained coaches and guides will be provided for all attending athletes.
● We supply tandem boats, single kayaks, adapted equipment, and life jackets.

What to Bring:
● Sunscreen
● Water bottle
● Watershoes or shoes that can get wet

Summit Adaptive Sports, Inc. is a local non profit organization.  Our mission is to foster a healthy lifestyle through outdoor sports for individuals with disabilities in a fun, accessible and inclusive environment.   We provide trained coaches and adaptive equipment (if needed) for snow sports, kayaking, biking, hiking and disc golf in Northwestern, CT.  Our coaches are trained to support individuals with disabilities including vision loss.
