Dear Federation, family and list serve readers,
The above subject is the title of an upcoming disability forum being held at the Bristol Public Library on October 17, Saturday from 12 noon until 3 PM. Three members of the central Connecticut chapter will be participating along with the director of BESB, Carol Jenkins. The The deaf community will have representation as well. I am fortunate that we have this opportunity to educate the public so that hopefully it will take some of the fear and hesitation out of interacting with us. I am sure that some of you have been in the situation where people just try and sneak by you without saying hello and then someone almost trips on your cane. Those. Ty Types of situations occur for us regularly. Sometimes people think we need too much help, and this will be a chance to show them how we live our lives and the tools and apps that can assist us. Please spread the word and pass along the flyer to anyone you come in contact with on a regular basis, such as your eye doctor, your Jim or places that you may frequent that would allow a flyer. Thank you and hope to see you there.
