Following damage from the 2020 Beirut port explosion, Artemisia Gentileschi’s Hercules and Omphale was conserved over three years and newly attributed to the artist. Ulrich Birkmaier and Oliver Tostmann explore the restoration and Artemisia’s enduring impact.
