[CT-NFB] Joyce Kane

Maryanne, Deb, and All,

 

I am sad to hear this news. May Joyce rest in peace.

 

Joyce was a great woman, advocate, and leader. When my then fiancee and I moved to Connecticut…20 years ago…Joyce was, along with Beth Rival, one of the first in our NFB movement and family to welcome me. She quickly invited me to dive into our local chapter and affiliate activities. And she strongly supported my stepping into affiliate leadership here in Connecticut. Joyce was always reaching out, building, mentoring, and encouraging. May the love, hope, and determination she showed inspire each of us to live and lead even more as she did.

 

May you rest in peace, Joyce, along with your beloved husband.

This is indeed sad news, Joyce offered our affiliate a lot in the earlier years when her health was better. I had the privilege of being her roommate for a short time the first time we went to Houston, Texas. She had not tried a national convention in a while and unfortunately  unfortunately, her health was not good and her brother who lives in Texas had to come and get her. But the short time we were together, I enjoyed her company very much. She is a kind and fair person and I will miss her.
