[CT-NFB] Shaping the Future of Disability Rights 2026 Nonpartisan Candidates’ Forum

Good afternoon,
 
I am hoping as many of our members as possible will attend this forum.  Thank you to Melissa for making sure this was brought to our attention!!
 
I am not sure if you are aware, but Luke Bronin has unseated long timer John Larson. Mr. Larson was a huge supporter of the NFB of CT (his longtime friend and political allied - Christopher Dodd's sister is our very own Carolyn Dodd). 
 
Recently, while Paul and I were attending a local town concert at Rockwell Park, Luke Bronin was "working the crowd" by walking around and shaking hands with all.  We had the chance to make him aware that if he should win the seat for the 1st Congressional District of CT, he can expect to hear from us, and we expressed that we hoped to have his support. He seemed to be open about supporting us. This is just one example of how important this forum is, we need to understand where all the representatives stand, and to get ourselves in front of them. Too many changes and cuts are taking place in Washington DC that affect the disability community, voices need to be heard!!
 
Please understand, this email is not about endorsing Mr. Bronin, but rather how important it is that we, the voters of CT, understand where our representatives stand on the issues important to us. I also feel this is a prelude to attending Washington Seminar (where our work is never finished).
