I now take Lantis and Novalog a short acting insulin and I have a
different method of double checking if I have taken it or not.

For the once a day shot of the Lantis once a week on Sunday I take out 7
needles for my pen and I keep them in the box that has my finger lances in.
So I use one a day starting on Sunday and if I have any doubts I count the
needles in the box.

As far as the short acting insulin it is easier to figure if you missed a
dose and I have done this in the past. You can test your blood sugar and
ttake actions on results. The only time you need to be very careful and
this is a quote from my endocrinologist, "Don't take coverage before bed
without eating something along with the insulin."

I hear what you are saying, but in real life situations things come up and
children can play a big part in that area. My kids are grown and moved out
of my house now, but I now sit on three little Princesses 3 days a week
all under 6 years old.
