As Eileen has stated the longer you have this disease it not only effects
your extremities with the loss of feeling, but it effects all of the body's
feelings.
I have had diabetes for 50 years now and 11 years ago I had at the age of 46
my second heart attack that damaged the right side of my heart. I had my
first one 2 years prior to that. I had no idea I had these heart attacks
because I did not feel anything. The first one was discovered with my annual
physical and the routine EKG. The second one was discovered due to shortness of
breath when I walked up and down the hall way at the office I worked in. The
docs still ask me if I have had any chest discomfort, but my reply is, "What
makes you think I will feel anything now if I had 2 heart attacks in the
past?"
I do not feel insulin reactions and have not felt them much for the last 15
years. I get feeling like I am tired and caring for 2 of my Grand children
that are under the age of 3 all day it isn't anything I think is out of the
unordinary.
I definitely know I had a reaction while I am coming out of them, but that
does not help me to take action.
Oh well,
Joyce
