Humolog is fast acting, and that is why you should always check your blood sugar prior to eating, and then you take you lantus in the evening, which lasts 24 hours to try and stabilize you sugar throughout the day.

Subject: [Diabetes-talk] insulin ?
I have been a type 1 diabetic 43 years now, I went to see a new diabetic dr. yesterday and she said that type 1 diabetics take 50% long acting and 50% short acting insulin.
Has anyone on here ever heard of this?
Debbie
