Hi Cheryl,
It is Jordan Benis from Advanced Diabetic Solutions. I just want to send out
a clarifying email. I spoke to the leadership team at Biosense, the
manufactures of the Solo V2. I want to disseminate this information as it
becomes available to Advanced Diabetic Solutions.
The Solo Website was built to be fully compatible with your screen readers.
Currently, they are 80% to completion and they should make some final tweaks
so it is 100% compatible.
Biosense explained there are components of the download software. Below are
the answers I received from Biosense.
Is the download software compatible with all of Microsoft's operating
systems? (Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7, etc.)
Yes the download is compatible with all operating systems. Simply click the
'Download' on the left side of the page at www.SoloMeters.com. Once you
click the button, the program is designed and built with all the drivers in
place. The software will recognize your computer's settings and do
everything for you.
Is the software application, once it is downloaded onto your desktop,
compatible with the screen readers? Not just yet. They are working on the
final release so it is 100% compatible.
I am talking to their President daily and communicating all of your
feedback. They take our feedback very seriously and typically make the
necessary changes fairly quickly.
Thanks again for everything and please call Tina or myself if we can address
any issues or concerns.
Regards,
Jordan Benis NP, MSN, RN

Did I not say that! I have spoke to Ms. Rockwell last night and Solo Meter
is quite away of this and she is double checking but believes it is
accessible, she is getting back to me today.
"We" are also blind and "we" are getting the meter this week, so "we" will
check it out.\

Cheryl:
I suspect that *we* will have to determine whether or not the software is
accessible. Unless it uses absolutely standard Windows controls or is in
the
form of a web page with accessible javascript apps attached, I'd be
willing
to bet the software is *not* accessible. But then neither is that of the
Prodigy Voice or any other meter software of which I am aware except for
the
experimental stuff Chris Gray of Bay Area Digital was working on a couple
of
years ago.
