Welcome to the Diabetic Talk list, the talk list for the Diabetic Action 
Network of the National Federation of the Blind, all are welcome to comment 
and participate.

Mike Freeman is our current National President of the Diabetic Action 
Network, and if you are coming to the NFB Convention in Dallas from July 2-9 
please come to our annual meeting and elections which is held ever year at 
National Convention.

My name is Cheryl Echevarria and I live in Brentwood, Long Island. I have 
been diabetic since the age of 13 which is over 30+ years, I also lost my 
vision in 2001 from diabetic retinopathy and was on Dialysis until 2005 when 
I received a life saving kidney transplant for a dear friend of mine. I am a 
medical insurance specialist as well as a business owner of a travel agency 
Echevarria Travel.

Currently I am the Treasurer of the Greater Long Island Chapter of the NFB 
and I am also running for V.P. of New York State Diabetic Action Network 
here in NY State, elections will be held in October 2010
