Osteoporosis is a sign that, like the rest of us, you are growing mature in years. Insofar as I am aware, diabetes medicines do not cause or exacerbate diabetes. Vitamin D deficiency is fairly common in diabetics but since you say your D level is normal, the osteoporosis is genetically based as you were told. I see ads for drugs that supposedly help but I know little about them.
