[Diabetes-talk] Osteoporosis

Stairs or stair stepping are weight baring, so are good for muscle which
promotes bone growth. I have a small bench and weights here in my home and
memorized Jane Fonda's step aerobics video, and also have a smaller
collapsible stepper. But one doesn't need much or a gym when it comes down
to it. and some resistant bands might be helpful for those who cannot do
much. A can of soup is another easy to obtain, takes up little room weight,
so one does definitely not need a gym.
I hope that if you get your rails for your stairs that you can use them.
Keep in mind that your blood sugars will change if your starting to be more
active, even in taking stairs verses an elevator, walking rather then riding
etc. But sounds like your physician must be working with you on this.
Osteoporosis is genetic, and for women a process that goes with
menopause...we can only do our best to slow the progression of such.
