[Diabetes-talk] How often do Type II's Test?

Actually, this is a bit oversimplified. Type 1 and Type 2 are distinct, if
sometimes overlapping diseases. But Cheryl is correct that Type 2 diabetes
often progresses to the point that the pancreas produces virtually no
insulin so the treatment regimen, i.e., use of insulin, ends up the same as
that for Type 1's.

Cheryl is also right in saying that ideally Type 2's should test at least
three times per day although some of the controversy surrounding such a
recommendation stems from the fact that testing is only as good as the use
one makes of it. Unless one acts upon his/her test results, all the testing
will have gone for naught.

a minimum 3 times a day not only complications, but type 2 can turn into
type 1.

Those sighted people were not educated properly. and thing type 2 is not as
bad as type 1, they are wrong.

The biggest compliment you can pay me is to recommend my services!

Dotty, I'd be in your camp on this one. You're right that it takes
several readings to spot a pattern. Yikes! This is part of the reason
so many type II's end up with complications I think. Others just
don't take it seriously. Good for you for getting the information
which will allow you to make the choices that result in the best
outcome possible. Keep it up! <grin.>
