Keytones are the protein that can spill into your urine.  If this is
happening, it means your sugars are running too high, and if not taken
care of, you can go into DKA (diabetic keyto acidosus, sorry, not sure
of spelling *smile*) which can lead into a coma.

They make these strips you can use to test for keytones.  They are a
long strip (similar to glucose strips, but longer).  You pee on one end,
wait a few seconds, then test the color of the tip of the strip to a
code on the bottle.  Depending on the color, you may be running
keytones, spilling protein into your urine.

To my knowledge, there is no accessible way to test for keytones if you
can not see.  So you would need a sighted person to help match the
colors up.
