I was told he had a pump that, as a totally blind person, he was able to
access menus and adjust independently. They wanted me to use this pump,
but, as previously mentioned, it was no longer available. I never saw
this pump or actually spoke with this patient, but this is what I was
told.

Are you sure it was *fully* accessible? Blind people have been using
pumps for 30 years. But note the ^jbleing - "using" as opposed to
"having full access to".
