[Diabetes-talk] Can't Help But Crow!

Thanks very much Mike for that tip. I will definitely read up on this. I just recently started on insulin a few months ago using the 70/30 flex pen so I am a relative novice when on topic. I do believe that insulin is a much better choice than subjecting oneself to the extremely harsh and harmful side effects of oral medications. I just need to learn to adjust the appropriate levels of insulin to my specific situation.

Thanks again for the information.

Joe

Hi, Joe.

This time around, I was especially careful to give "correction boluses" to
bring my bg down to around 100 mg/dl two or three hours after a meal, at the
start of the next meal (not counting the carbs in that meal) or sometimes
before bed or first thing in the morning. See Gary Scheiner's "Think Like A
Pancreas", available from BARD, to learn how to do this.Remember, I'm on the
full intensive regimen with Humalog before each meal and lantus before bed.

Mike

Great going Mike! I am struggling just to keep mine below 7. Is there
anything you are doing differently to get your bg down this low?
