[Diabetes-talk] Spike.

Colleen,

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts. I appreciate all the support.

We spent three years thinking a biological pregnancy wasn't even an
option, but back last September, my new endo said it was not only an
option, but one she supported. I started a pre-pregnancy plan and was
given the full go-ahead in late October. We just became pregnant much
sooner than we expected, smile. Before, though, we had pursued adoption
and were beginning to meet with case workers. This pregnancy is such a
blessing, but for us. Whether biological or not, we wanted a family and
would love any child despite orgins of birth.

In fact, we potentially were slated to adopt our niece, who my sister
had while in high school. My sister decided to marry the father after
they graduated, however, so after four months, she was no longer "ours."
We still maintain an extremely close relationship with her though, and
we have her consistently every weekend, Friday through Sunday. She calls
me mama and has her own room at our house. I already feel like a mother
so it's just the pregnancy that is a new experience, grin.

So we would still love to pursue adoption one day as we hope to have
more than one child, at least one who gets to stay with us every day,
smile. It's encouraging to know others who have adopted and can provide
info and support.

Sincerely,
Bridgit Kuenning-Pollpeter

Hi Bridget,
I know that I probably shouldn't be posting this to the List but I will
keep you in my prayers. I know you have some challenges but it really
sounds like you are trying to kaep on top of the situation. After my
Daughter Monica was killed in a bus accident my husband and I adopted
two multiply-handicapped girls. I never felt differently about them.
They were my girls no matter how they arrived. They have both passed
away due to medical conditions. Our Biological Daughter also had
Multible Issues. If, at any time, you decide to adopt I am sure you will
find it very rewarding. God Bless!

Colleen Roth
