What insulin are you using now? Are you inquiring about the possibility of
using a pump?
I have had type 1 for 39 years.. I used a pump about 13 years ago,
Disatronics? Don't even know exactly the spelling now but if you have read
posts.. not much in the way of accessibility for Blind/vision impaired
diabetics.
I have found pretty good control results myself with Lantis and Humalog..
as to pre pump, NPH and regular insulins.
I know many new insulins have come on the market but now these being
older insulins, and at the time referred to the poor mans pump... I find
with several glucose tests and the like, do pretty good for an old type
1.
I know the use of a pump requires several BG checks, although.. pumps are
aiding in this, but non the less, good monitoring and understanding ones own
body is the best bet.. and working of course with a trusted endo

Hi Everyone! I am a new List Member and am delighted to have found You All.
I am resident in Northern Ireland so hope I am permitted to join and take
part in discussions? I found this List while searching for info on an
Accessible Talking Insulin Pump. I am a Visually Impaired Type 1 Diabetic
who is prone to frequent Hypos without warning and am looking for ways to
manage and treat my Diabetes. Sascha
