Yeah, but checking a clock that's silent, or the sound is muffled as in
the case of talking watchusers, is not as disruptive as hearing a
talking device out loud, and they are usually loud, and then add in
several talking devices, and it becomes a chorus. It's rude to continue
to chek the time, in my opinion, but again, a sighted person isn't using
a device that talks out loud, so it's not as obvious, or at least not as
annoying and disruptive as a talking device.

I suppose it's no different than an LDP glancing at a clock on the wall.
Still, when I'm in a meeting, and I want to know the time, I fish my
earpiece out of my pocket and get the time from my phone.  I'm not sure
what the people around me think I'm doing, but then again, it's not all
that important to me.

Well, as I said in my post, these were all braille watches, in fact it
was before there was such a thing as a talking watch. Whether braille or
talking, it really isn't rudeness, just the fact that in order to check
the time publicly, it involves some kind of sound, as minnute as a click
or as disturbing as a robotic voice. This could have been a conference
full of sighted people, doing the same thing and nobody else in the room
would have been any the wiser. Just the way life goes, so don't be too
hard on the clicking braille watches. Lol! Linda.
