[Diabetes-talk] Solo V strips

My husband changed employers and his new company put durable/glucose
testing supplies under pharmacy.. not sure if it's to save
company/insurance some money? But sure has caused me stress!
I quit buying from ADS over a year ago, for ongoing supplies, as I got tired
of getting set items I did not ask for, in many way.. asked them "not" to
send.
I got set up with Diabetesuplies.com which is in Vancouver area.. and while
the Solo strips are not on their venue, they did manage to get them for me
via some source. I used to get my prodigy strips from them ...
But worked like a charm, as I called when I knew I was about a week or 2
out, said exactly what I needed, strips.. control solution, lancets or not
and all went well.. but now,
Anyway, this is ridiculous, as I know from reading posts here how often
insurances don't' want to allow the totally blind a truly accessible, or as
accessible as we can get glucose meter!
Thanks Mike for keeping on all this and going to bat!
I also, not going to convention want to contribute my annual fee for being a
part of this group.
So, if I missed the address to mail to.. please send again?
Thanks, Tamera

Yeah; I have Regency Blue Cross in Washington state and Solo test strips
(Same as the Solus test strips) aren't in it's formulary. I'm going to
investigate and see how to get this changed. It may be only that the Federal
program will change but I'll see how far I get.

The pharmacy where I got both the new solo and separate test strips from is
New Utrecht Pharmacy out of brooklyn new york. You might be able to try
there. The phone number is 1888-413-6737. I know they took our Excellus blue
cross, but you will want to check with them to see if they'll participate
with what you have.
Hope this helps.
