Another way to try and get the blood flowing is, before you prick your 
finger, massage it while counting with what would be a heartbeat or the 
way they do it when giving resucitation like this.
one-hundred and one, one-hundred and two, etc
I've also been told that you should never squeeze the finger to get 
blood, because you can develop a blister.
I think there are as many ways to stimulate blood flow, as there are 
diabetics, and diabetic educators, and a few other folks as well.
