[Diabetes-talk] Testing 8 Times a Day?

No bake cookies are loaded with sugar. They are extremely high in carbs,
which raise glucose levels. If insulin dependent, you need to bolus when
eating baked goods like no-bake cookies. Popcorn actually is not all that
high in carbs. I believe a serving size is 3 cups of popped corn, but can't
remember the exact carb amount. For me, I do not need to bolus much when
eating popcorn. Veggies and protein do not have carbs, or enough carbs, to
affect glucose levels. If meat has a high-carb sauce like BBQ, then it will
affect sugars, but meat alone does not. So eating a lettuce salad with
grilled chicken would not require insulin, unless using a dressing high in
carbs, but even then, if sticking to the portion size for dressing, which is
2 tablespoons, it usually doesn't contain a ton of carbs. If running high in
the morning, it could also be what snack you are having before bed. If high
in carbs, likely it's contributing to high sugars in the morning. A good
bedtime snack should be low-carb and contain protein.

I will have to do that again.
I find even though I eat a lite lunch it doesn't matter.
We from time to time will share a bag of pop corn.
It has 100 calories.
I also enjoy the no bake cookies with the oatmeal in them.
They also help me out with keeping on track with what you have to do.
We also have salads with chicken in them.
My sugars are over 200.
I test twice to make sure.
Now of course I thought the insulin was to be 20 units in the morning and 10
unit at night.
Where it needs to turn around.
So this evening I changed it around. They want to see if this would help the
lowering of the numbers in the morning.
I feel good getting everything done I wish to do for the day.
