[Diabetes-talk] Solus V2 Strips

Daniel,

After I stick my finger, I squeeze gently a couple of times to be sure I have a decent drop. Holding palm face up and keeping fingers as straight as possible, I pick up the meter with the other hand and strip already in it. I drag the flat, narrow edge of the strip along the finger, starting at the first joint (usually this is below the area where the droplet is located). Slowly, keep dragging the strip towards the tip of your finger. If you don’t get a hit, go back to the joint and try it again, maybe, adjusting the location to more middle of the finger, drag it up towards the finger tip. Stop when it starts with the message that the test is in process and just let it gently rest against the finger in that area.

For neatness sake, you might want to have a paper towel folded up so if the drop runs it won’t wind up on your furniture and you can wipe off your hands too.

Remember if your hands are cold it can be difficult to get a drop of blood. I usually wash with warm, not hot water before a test.It will also help you to use moisturizer during the day to prevent your fingers from becoming to dry from washing and testing. Don’t put moisturizer on just prior to a test you don’t want it corrupting your readings.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Diabetes-talk] Solus V2 Strips

Hi,
A few questions about the Solus V2 strips.
1. Where would I be able to get more strips for the Solus V2 if I needed to?
2. Do you know of any different cases other than the stock hard shell case that comes with the Solus V2, I can get? I was looking for one that'll be able to fit the lancet device, at least a week's worth of lancets, the meter, and at least 1 bottle of test strips.
The stock hard shell case fits all of that stuff, however, for me at least, it's hard to pack everything with one try. It takes me at least 3 tries before everything is packed enough for the case to close properly.
For any Solus V2 users
3. What corner of the strip am I suppose to align the blood to? I tried both corners, but perhaps, I might be doing something wrong.
I think once, I was able to get it, but can't seem to get it consistently.
What tips (from Solus V2 users), could be provided to me in successful blood alignment with the Solus strips?
I try and lie my hand flat, poke my finger, litely pinch it to draw blood, then align the strip to my finger. Though maybe I'm not aligning it correctly.
Thanks for your help.
