J&J learned of the issue affecting their Animas OneTouch Ping device from Jay Radcliffe in April 2016. The vulnerability lies in the communication between a wireless remote control for the device that allows setting changes; that traffic is not encrypted and could be intercepted. In their letter to patients, J&J suggest several measures to guard against attacks.
