Daniel,

I can send my CGM results to my doctor via my phone. The results are
in the transmitter. I called Dexcom last week, because my trend arrow was
not showing, so I thought my sensor was defective. I gave the man my
transmitter number that is so handy in my phone, and he was able to see all
of my readings. It turns out that my blood sugar level was so steady
(flatlined as he called it) that the trend arrow couldn't get a reading.
Once my blood sugar made a change, the trend arrow came back.

Because I gave my diabetic educator permission to access my readings via the
Dexcom software, she can easily access my readings when I need her to review
them. It's really a great system, and my blood sugars have been in the best
control since getting the Dexcom almost four years ago. Luckily, I had Blue
Cross insurance as my primary at the time and didn't have to jump through
Medicare's hoops. When my husband left his job, I had to go on Medicare and
have Blue Cross as my secondary insurance. Medicare has so many rules to
follow for the supply companies to be able to ship my pump and Dexcom
supplies. But, I am fortunate to have coverage.

Hi Jamie and list,
As far as Jamie's question goes about the receiver and how would Medicare
know what you use, I believe the answer would be if you don't submit results
from you receiver when they are requested.
Dexcom explained to me that if your physician requests readings, they must
be exported using the Dexcom Studio software, and this software requires the
receiver be connected to your computer.
So that's my own answer to Jamie's question, then again, if I am wrong, do
feel free to correct me as need be.
My Dexcom G5 Mobile System is due to be released from quality control
tomorrow, as they have to review the order for correctness.
I should be receiving tracking info either tomorrow or Wednesday, so I'll
let the list know when I have the system in my hands.
