And as always, don't make big changes in your eating and exercising plans
without first talking to your doctor that manages your diabetes medicines.
In the short term, making these changes can result in low blood sugar, and
lows can be every as bit as dangerous, even more dangerous, than higher
levels and elevated A1C's, in the long run. So, consult with your doctor and
tell him what you are considering changing so the doctor can anticipate how
your medicine needs may change.

Diabetes is all about the "dance" of food, exercise, and for many,
medication. All three play a big role in getting to a mostly stable, good
blood sugar level. If you increase or decrease any of these three without
considering the other two, you can get in trouble. I wish you the best.

Tom

Potato and breads are high in carbs. If looking to lower A1-C, should eat
these foods sparingly even if fitting into your carb count. Oatmeal has
carbs, and while it has a lot of benefits, lowering A1-C is not one of them.
Oatmeal is a healthy choice, but has carbs and will affect glucose levels.
If wanting to lower A1-C, eat a lot of protein and fresh veggies, and eat
bread and high carb foods sparingly. Also, exercise when you can and test
frequently. This will help to lower A1-C's.

Hi there,
Welcome to the list.
Do you know how many carbs you can have for each meal?
That helps.
So you don't have to cut out those wonderful things like potatoes and bread.
I know it is hard to get someone to read how many calories are in bread
things like that, I wish it was easier.
I to am a total.
Where if you can get a good loaf of bread this helps.
Then you still can have sandwiches.
I also do the multi grain breads.
This helps your tummy problems.
I know I have to take a pll for this as well.
Oat meal is another fun thing to eat and it does help lower the a one c.
I hope this helps.
