Thanks dan, I will do that. I have my next appointment with him in 2 weeks
to do a follow up. So I will ask then. The a1c  that I reported from the
past 2 weeks was from my primary doctor and not my endo so I will ask my
endo who would be more on top of things  instead of  my general primary
doctor.

I myself am in the same boat as you. I'm on orel meds and on insulin too.
An A1C target, I was told, was around 6.0 or 5.0, but maybe I have the
number's wrong. For better results, insure you ask your doctor what A1C
target he or she wants you at.
