Hi NFB Friends,

FYI, future Apple Smart Phones will not have an ear phone jack – they will have Blue Tooth!

I worked with Prodigy and your top NFB Staff 9 years ago to create the Prodigy Voice Meter which is the only fully accessible glucose meter on the market today.

I work with the Blind Diabetes Group which is sponsored by US Med. They are a Medicare Bid winner, they sell the Prodigy Voice Meter and supplies, and they created a special phone number to assist blind diabetics only - 800-809-3472.

Eileen,

     I'm trying my reply again, since my first response is pending moderator approval for a nonmember response.  I did a "reply all" the first time, so I'm wondering if that made a difference, since I am a member of the mailing list.  

Anyway, I have not heard of this device, but it sounds promising.  However, if it isn't voice activated, then we won't be able to know our blood sugar until the results are synced with the phone.  And, putting the data cable in to the headphone jack will disable the Voice Over until the cable is disconnected.
