[Diabetes-Talk] new member intro

Hi Alyssa! Welcome to this site. I was diagnosed with diabetes in 1970 at age 4 and lost my eyesight from retinopathy at age 21. I joined this group when I was searching for a new insulin pump last year when my Accucheck Spirit stopped being sold. I am totally blind and chose the Animas Vibe for my new pump. I use the Seeing AI app on my phone to read the screen of the pump if I need to figure out where I am in the menus. It's not perfect, but it works. I received a ton of support and great resources by being on the list. I hope you find it just as helpful.

					Jamie

Thank you both for your welcome and introduction messages.

Eileen, what kind of pump do you use? I use an Animas Ping with a OneTouch Ultra Mini glucose meter. I use my remaining vision to operate both, but I've always wondered if there is a better, less visual option. My pump has an audio bolus feature, which is helpful, but most of the time I use magnification to read my pump's screen.

Thanks.

Alyssa
