Thanks, will try. Can't recall off the top of my head what canula it is (have written down) but its similar to the inset I used with Animas.

Bridgit, I don't know which cannula you're using but there are a couple of things that could be happening. The Medtronic delivers basal patterns in a different way than the Cozmo and the Animas did. So particularly if you take a small amount of basal insulin, in that first day the basals don't come as often so the tubing can behave differently and it takes time to get the insulin flowing properly. If you haven't already done so, you might try inserting the new one right before a bigger meal and see if giving a larger bolus will get things off on a better foot. Just a thought.

Jamie, BTW, when you change your canula with the Medtronic, do you notice that for a day, your glucose levels sitter a little higher? I never noticed this with my other infusion sets, but everytime I change mine, for almost an entire day, I can't get below 150. Then all of a sudden, they go back to normal. The first time, I thought I had a bad canula and was about to change it, then they dropped. But, now every time, I notice this happens. I've only been using the Medtronic since mid-November, and I can't imagine why the infusion sets would be different or why this would happen, but consistently every time I do a set change, this happens.

Yes, I was told to never walk through any of the scanning machines- metal detector one or the full body scan.  I always insist to be patted down.  The insulin pump is not supposed to go through the scanners either.

At airports, there are certain security devices you cannot walk through. You just tell them that your medical device can't go through, and they can either pat you down or use the hand wand.
