Wow, the Dexcom app sounds a lot simpler to me. With the G6, I've gotten
really used to the "urgent low soon" alarm, which alerts us that we may hit
urgent low within 20 minutes. It has really helped me stabilize my numbers.
With the Dexcom I like that it will alert us without us having to touch the
pyhone to the sensor to find out. But the real discussion should happen
between you and your endo as to which one is best.

Hello Dar,
The settings that you are looking for to make sure the app will speak your
BGs and trend arrow is in the the menu in the top left hand corner of the
main app window. You will double tap on the menu and flick right to the
settings option and then the settings will open in a new window and you will
look for the text to speech option and double tap on the on/off toggle. This
should turn the speech option on. You then will need to find either the
unlabeled scan button in the top right hand corner of the main or home
screen. Alternatively you also can find the check glucose button towards the
lower third of the main/home screen. You may also double tap on the button
to activate the action. You then can place the top center of the phone over
the sensor and you will hear a double beep when the reading has been taken.
After the double beep you will hear the BG and trend arrow speak out loud.
I hope this helps.
