[Diabetes-Talk] Not working

I agree that blind diabetics need just as many options as sighted diabetics.
Based on what I've learned about Libre, I'm with Veronica and prefer my
Dexcom, but what works for one doesn't work for everyone. Just as it is with
pumps and meters, the same applies to CGMs.
Like Veronica, I like the alerts with Dexcom, but once you start
stabilizing, if you aren't already, it doesn't alert as much. Mine only
alerts if I drop below 70 or go above 180, but I still am sensitive to how I
feel. After 30 plus years of being diabetic, I can guess my glucose levels
based on how I feel, and I'm usually correct, but Dexcom is helping me
better track trends, and helping my endo fine-tune basal rates. I have
sensitivity to both lows and highs, but for those who don't, Dexcom would be
an invaluable tool, even a lifesaver.
I also like that I can note carbs, insulin, exercise and health on the
Dexcom app, also allowing my endo to track all this in addition to blood
sugars.
But we need as many accessible options so we have choices. It's great that
we have 2 CGMs to choose between right now. Actually, I'm not sure what
other CGMs exist. Even my sighted friends with diabetes use Dexcom, grin.

Hello,
Actually the LibreLInk app is great. The steps I out lined in the previous
email you only have to do once to get the text to speech working. I used the
DexCom system for about 3 years and actually like the Libre system more. The
reason is that I am not being overloaded by information like with the Dexcom
system. I have to rely on what my body is telling me. My wife even likes
this system more as I am not getting stressed out over the constant alarms
and system alerts from DexCom. Is the DexCom system more. Accurate, not
really.
I personally like the LibreLink system and I am glad to see different
options that visually impaired diabetics can utilize.
JMO.
