Hi everyone.
I am now a few days into my second sensor. I am absolutely loving the G6. No
more wrinkled tape. Yay! When I inserted the sensor this time, I used the
Seeing AI app to read the code through the plastic package. I then entered
it manually. This time the inserter did not jam and the whole process was
done in a shorter amount of time than I'd spend playing with the tape on the
G5.
With the first sensor, it was quite a bit off from my meter the first day
but then tracked it perfectly for the remaining 9 days. So far this second
sensor has never been more than 5 per cent different. I can't get that just
doing two tests with my meter. <grin>
I'm cutting way way back on finger sticks now. It's amazing to me the
difference in my morning, being able to jump in the shower, come out, throw
clothes on and go on with my day. I love not interrupting my evenings for
calibrations. And yesterday while walking, I hit a really slippery driveway,
like oil kind of slippery. I managed to stay vertical, yay, but boy did I
twist around a lot. So last night some sore muscles were treated to a
Tylenol without setting off ridiculous alarms.
Oh, my tape did hold the entire ten days, just starting to peel away in one
little spot on the last day. So I'm not wearing any additional tape on this
second sensor either.
I've seen the app get stuck a couple of times. Once on a low notification,
the okay button didn't do anything and I had to close the app and open it
again. A couple of times it has crashed on the warning, this app works with
your phone. Good grief! So let's see, I can update my phone to iOS 11.4 and
get warnings because one feature doesn't work with that update or I can stay
where I am and get warnings saying it does work with my phone. That's a bit
odd but I think the G5 app does the same thing.
On the notifications for low and high that we get on the locked screen, it
says your blood glucose is high, northeast arrow. It says southeast arrow on
the low. I'm going to try to find out what this really is. The icons for up
and down and constant read just fine in the app itself though. The app
behaved quite nicely during the sensor change.
Happy girl here. <grin>
