Hi Gary.
I can answer both questions.
First, the codes. You only enter the code when you first start a new sensor.
So you enter it on day one and then never think about it for the rest of
that sensor's life. If you use the code, at the end of the warmup two hours,
you do nothing. It just starts giving you readings right away. You never
have to calibrate during the life of that sensor. So you could go forever
with no finger sticks. Personally, I'd figure out a lot of technology to get
that perk. Here's what happens if you don't use the codes. At the end of the
two-hour warmup, you do two finger sticks as you do with the G5 to
calibrate. Then you calibrate in 12 hours like you do now. Then one more
finger stick and calibration 12 hours after that. At the end of the first 24
hours, you only have to calibrate once a day for the life of the sensor. So
it's still better than the G5 but not the complete freedom you'd get with
the codes. 
When I get mine, I'll be able to find out if the code can be seen either
through or on the packaging in case we want to just have someone read all of
the codes to us.
Second question, these sensors last ten days. Period. No fooling them or
extending their life as we do with the G5 sensors. This has to do with the
accuracy and lack of calibration. The G6 sensors are supposed to be much
more accurate, in addition to not having the Tylenol restriction and the're
thinner and smaller.

Heres my question.with the new g6 sensors and transmitters.does one have
that choice of doing  eh regular caliberation method like the g5 or they
have to use the code that is going to be inputted  every time from reading
the manual on g6.that will be a pain for a lot of us who don't want to deal
with all these hastles as we have a lot to deal with these sort of
issues.also can one use the g6 senssor for more then   10days or that will
not be possible as you can currently do with the  g5 senssor getting   it to
go for more then 7 days.just wondering about tthese and if  some one could
answer them as promptly as possible.
