Agree with that .what's the big bias towards other meters that are not named protegy. As long as the meter is accessible nad works for the individual and that’s all that matter for getting he e glucose readings.

Hi Mary,

As a user of the Prodigy I do not find it to be accurate & many a time its out right difficult to work with getting a sample. When my supply of strips run out I am going to look into getting strips for my Clever choice Voice. The clever choice is totally accessible. I bought one last year through Amazon just to try it and see what it was like. It is 100% accessible. People who say it is not fully accessible are incorrect, I own 1 and everything about it speaks including results stored in memory. The only reason I went back to the Prodigy is because I could not locate a supplier for the strips for the Clever Voice meter. I did not want to buy the strips through Amazon.

HTH.

Eileen

Hello,
That is really good to know. I am actually sending this back, once I receive my refund I’m going to get the prodigy. I know I’ve asked this question before but I’m going to ask again, do those of you that use the prodigy get fairly accurate readings? I’ve seen mixed reviews on Amazon which I find to be a bit concerning.

Ask if there is someone who can assist you in enabling speech output on it. If they tell you the meter doesn’t talk then you know you’ll want to send it back for a refund.

Otherwise, isn’t there a way to post a question on Amazon – perhaps others who have had success with it might give you a pointer or two.

>> Hello,
>> I just got the pro-voice meter. Here’s the deal, I’m able to put the test strip in and it tells me what to do but once I put my finger on it it does not read anything. I’ve tried it multiple times with multiple settings on the Lansing device and if there was a reading on the meter it is not audibly announce it. For those of you who have one of these what do you do in that instance? Is there a type of set up required that I’m not aware? I find it interesting that it will talk to me when I put the test strip in and it gives me the instructions but that’s about it. I’m going to be really upset if that is all this meter does when it comes to announcing. Part of the reason why I bought it is because it was half the price of the prodigy but I’ve also seen some really good reviews on it through Amazon even from sighted people who use the audio feature. Their readings were announced so I question what I may be doing wrong.
