Mary,

     It is confusing, but there are two Prodigy meters- Prodigy and Prodigy Voice.  Make sure you get the Prodigy Voice.  The Prodigy does talk, but it will be just like the ProVoice in that nothing else talks except when you insert the strip and then the results.  The Prodigy Voice is totally accessible.

I have been using the Prodigy Voice for years and also have a Dexcom continuous glucose monitor.  I find the readings to be pretty accurate compared to the Dexcom readings.  It will let you know if there is not enough blood on the strip, which often effects the test results with meters.  I'm happy with it.

That is really good to know. I am actually sending this back, once I receive my refund I’m going to get the prodigy. I know I’ve asked this question before but I’m going to ask again, do those of you that use the prodigy get fairly accurate readings? I’ve seen mixed reviews on Amazon which I find to be a bit concerning.
