I'm totally blind myself and place my sensor on without sighted assistance. I do use Dexcom, but my understanding is that the Dexcom and Libre sensors are similar. First, rub with an alcohol swab on the area before placing the sensor. Even if you have just showered, it's recommended to use an alcohol wipe. Second, you might need to use an overlay which is medical tape with a hole in the middle that goes on top of the sensor to keep it secure.

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Having trouble with Libra sensors
Sent from my iPhoneHello everyone,
I have a 14 day Libra system. I have been using it for about 2 months now. I absolutely love it! I feel it has been a huge game changer for me.
Anyway, I have been having problems with my last few sensors, after putting them on. I am totally blind, so my aide helps me put them on. We do this every 2 weeks, on a Monday.
Well, 2 weeks ago when she went to place the sensor on my left arm, it would not stick, or stay in. Within an hour, it came out of my arm. I called my provider, and they had me call the company who offers the Libra. My sensor was replaced. The next 1 worked as it should have. Just as they had before.
Well, ever since I got my sensor placed this morning, it isn’t wanting to stick right. It is on the back side of my right arm. Half of it wants to come up. And when I bend my arm, I can feel a small poke from the needle. I don’t feel that this sensor will last for 2 weeks, much less 2 days.
Do you all have any recommendations?
What the heck could be going on?
I don’t understand why this could be happening.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you,
Terri
