[Diabetes-Talk] G6 issue

Hello All:

I'm a new user of the Dexcom G6 and have been finding interesting
result using the CGM.

I have had to see the diabetes educator a couple of times as I had some
issues and I think they are now resolved.

If you are having trouble of any sort, you need to see a diabetes
educator who is very familiar with the Dexcom G5 or G6 and they can
explain things more clearly and help you with learning to setup the app
on your iPhone.

I have found the app for the iPhone very accessible and easy to use.
The only thing I have a difficult time doing is taking the photo shot
of the QRCode using the phone camera so I have resorted to calling Aira
and getting the agent to read the code. I then enter the code manually.

For those who are getting false reading, you might want to talk with
your doctor on a good low and high point to set the app. The default
warning is set for the low at 55 mg/dl and the high is set for 400 if
you haven't discovered this.

You will then want to calibrate the app using the readingt of your
meter for the low and high. Doing this, I have found that I'm getting
more accurate readings from the app.

Hope this all helps those who are having trouble.

There is also a users group that can be found on Facebook by searching
for Dexcom. Answer a few questions for the Dexcom G5 or G6 and wait for
the administrator to add you to the group.

I went on the CGM because I was beginning to have too many low and too
many highs and have collapsed several times. I inquired with my
endocrinologost if I qualified for the CGM and she said yes. As long as
you are testing 4 or more times a day your blood sugar levels and you
are on Medicare you qualify and Medicare should be able to cover the
bulk of the cost. I have yet to receive a bill from the Supplier.

I, too, have found the sensor patch very helpful to securely keep my
sensor to my body.

Fell free to write me privately if you have questionsand don't want to
publically discuss your private concerns.

I can be sent messages to mota1252 at smobile.net
