Wow, that just pisses me off. Was she young?

I lost most of my hope that NFB will come through and do something that helps. Today I attended our chapter meeting, where we heard about Washington Seminar from the young woman who was Iowa’s Legislative Director there this year. She started out telling us about the initiatives, the first one being “Gain.” She asked if anyone knew what that stood for, because she couldn’t remember. She explained it was forming a committee to work with the Access Board to make things like stoves and microwaves and, of yeah, medical devices, accessible. Then she said the thing that just made me want to pound my head on the table. She said “I don’t understand this one as much as the others, and barely talked with anyone (legislators) about it.” Can we all count to three and say “Fizzle?!?”

Hugs to you, Veronica! And maybe a few sympathetic tears as well, for all of us who work on accessibility and without much useful support!

Well, writing my post in response to Doula kind of calmed me down a bit but I don't know what else to do here. It's either spit out a bunch of bad regrettable language or cry and beg for hugs or something. Today I paid a visit to my local pharmacy only to discover that my insurance arbitrarily decided to cut my monthly insulin allowance by a third. No warning. No nothing to or through my endo. Nothing. Heck, I just got all of this authorized in October. The pharmacy said they just do stuff like this because it's January. Somebody answer this. Why in the world do we even have doctors any more? I told all of you about my fights over my rheumatoid arthritis injectable drug, 3.92 doses indeed! I had a horrible doctor's appointment this week where all he did was yell at me about what a victim he was and how they go above and beyond for me. All I do with my endo is work on the next batch of forms for someone. It probably isn't helping me that I can't shake this sinus infection and with no good echo location, I smacked my head but good the other day, but somehow, after the three-hour battle with Dexcom yesterday which resulted in nothing, then to run into this today, I'm just exhausted. Obviously I don't really mean this, but standing there in the pharmacy, I felt this momentary flash of anger that almost made me feel like, well I'll show you and just not take any of it! Like I said, that's obviously not my plan, but I sure feel like nobody gives a blankity blank about me the person right now. I don't understand why such a well-off country seems so bent on killing off its citizens who pay the taxes.
Anyway, I know you guys don't have magic beans or instant answers, but I just had to rant somewhere in the hopes that I can put this down and get something done with my afternoon. Thanks so much for listening.
Veronica
