Yes, they make various sizes of crockpots. And BTW, I should mention that my kids rarely eat what I make. It's peanut butter sandwhiches and hotdogs and Greek yogurt at most meals for both of them, ha, so I'm pretty much still cooking for 2, smile.

I am also cooking for one person. When I make something that I can’t freeze, which isn’t very often, I use a smaller crock pot. Not sure how many quarts it is, but it is perfect for just one person.

I don’t mind having enough for 2 or 3 nights top, but after that I find I get sick of it. You have a large family there and I’m sure its a wonder appliance, but I think for singles especially if trying to watch weight its a bit too much.

Because I have 2 little kids and am busy, I make a lot of crockpot meals. I will take most recipes and turn into a crockpot meal even if it's not originally a crockpot recipe.

I’m having some back issues that make standing difficult, but I am making the best of things. I use the crock pot quite a bit, as well as frozen fruits and vegetables. Even if you can just throw some vegetables in the microwave, along with a baked potato or something, that’s a good start.
