Hi Scott,
I currently have the G5. I'm hoping that my Medicare will start
covering the G6 sometime this year. The insertion process for the G5
is a little tricky, but it's manageable. I have added issues in having
arthritis in my hands, so not a lot of good hand strength. When I got
my G5 back in December I spent some time with a Diabetes educater to
learn how to insert a sensor and get everything working with the phone
app. Also, finding a good place to have it where I wouldn't knock it
out took a bit of trial and error. I've heard that the insertion
process with the sensor for the G6 is quite a bit easier. As far as
being around water, it's all water proof. So it can go through the
shower, or in the water whereever you are swimming. I know someone
else on this least has mentioned swimming with having the Dexcom, so
hopefully she will chime in for that part. I've found that having the
Dexcom as a type II diabetic has helped a lot, especially with
catching lows. Hope this helps.
