Melanie,

The insulin from the Inpen is injected into your body each time you place
the needle into your body. This is similar to take a one time shot for each
injection. It is nothing like a pump. You turn the knob at the other end of
the Inpen to indicate the amount of insulin you desire to take. Each time
you turn the knob it clicks to let you know you have placed a half unit into
the part of the Inpen that will be injected into you.
An example would be if you turned the knob five clicks then inserted the
needle into your skin and pushed the end of the knob down for ten seconds
then you will have injected two and one half units.
The needles are to be used for one injection then discarded.
