[Diabetes-Talk] Choosing a decent bread

I use flat-out wraps or fiber-one wraps a lot. One wrap is a good size and
it is 30 grams of carbs, but I use one and it is a good size. Sometimes I
see that as more filling than the two slices would be. I do not know whether
Walmart has wraps, as I rarely shop there. While I find I can save on some
things, many of the healthy items I try to eat cannot be purchased from
there.

Hi there. Actually, there are 2 breads that I've used personally that are
very low carb.
1. From Aldi's Loven Fresh 0 net carb. It has 7 carbs and 7 fiber which
makes it 0 net carbs.
2. From Sam's Club, label just says low carb bread and sold in a bag of 2
loaves. It claims it is 2 net carbs.
There are a couple of YouTube offerings about some of these low carb breads
that should come up of you do a search.
Warmest regards

Terry,
Just look for a bread that is labeled whole grain or nine grain or ancient
grains. Sarah Lee has a version of this. But no bread is low carb.
Regardless of the bread, whole grain, white, gluten-free, a single slice is
about 15 grams of carbs. So, a sandwhich with 2 slices will be 30 grams of
carbs. Obviously bigger bread like Texas toast or French loaf will have
more. Likewise, tortilla wraps are the same. Even those claiming to be
low-carb are deceptive. Bread is bread, and if you are going to eat it,
there's no way getting around the carbs.

Hello everyone,
So one of the things that was mentioned in my appointment was, eating more
whole grains. Sometimes we eat sandwiches for lunch. I don't think the bread
I currently use is good enough. It's, Sarah Lee, honey wheat.
I would like to find a bread that I will likely find at Wal-Mart, as this is
where we do the majority of our shopping. I am wanting something that's not
too many carbs. But I don't know if this is even possible?
But also, something that's high in fiber.
Is there such a bread like this?
A friend of mind mentioned one called, Healthy Life. Do any of you know
anything about this bread?
Thank you,
Terri
