[Diabetes-Talk] Stir frying.

I use coconut oil myself, which does not have carbs and is very healthy. I
frequently use coconut oil and olive oil, so keep rather large bottles of
both at home.

We use pam instead of oil. Sometimes we steam the vegetables and stir-fry
them at the last moment with pam.

Hi Alan,

It is absolutely possible to make stir-fry at home that won't raise your
blood sugar. When you make your own, you can have everything in it including
rice, but in amounts you choose, rather than the sometimes-gargantuan
servings of rice you get when ordering from a restaurant. Sauces are also a
consideration, since many of them have sugar--though again, you can use them
in amounts that fit your needs if you cook at home. Otherwise, most of a
stir-fry is meat (or tofu) and veggies, and you can't go wrong with those.

Is it possible to make stir fry dishes at home that won't adversely affect
blood sugars? I ask because I am contemplating buying a stovetop wok to do
more cooking at home.
