Hi folks. I don't post that often, afterall, I'm just a blind guy who
happens to be married to a sighted diabetic. Anyway, after 20 years, her
endo and I finally convinced my wife to get a CGM, Libre 2 as it happened. I
have good insurance for almost everything, but they didn't cover anything
for sensors and reader. I'm still wondering about that, but like Gary, we
just bought it at Costco, not bad considering.

Since Linda has good eyesight, until we update our phones, she is using the
reader for alarms and measurements. After the initial few hours, the
readings are coming in within 5-10 units of the finger-stick measurement, so
I think we're good to go.

I can already see that the CGM will be a gamechanger for us. Yesterday
afternoon there were a couple of low alarms when her BG dropped below 70.
Having that history gave her the info to cut way back on her shot at supper
time. Evidently she guessed right because her sugar was steady at about 100
through the night. Seeing the blood sugar react in real time to food and
insulin is really going to be a big deal.

Anyway, having lurked on this list for the last 10 years has given me a ton
of valuable information, and for that I am deeply grateful. Thanks and Merry
Christmas.
