You might want to check with your endocrinologist/primary care doctor about any necessary adjustments in your medication especially diabetes medication. Surgeons office generally don’t understand diabetes and won’t offer good advice on this issue. My endocrinologist always has me reduce my basal insulin by 35 to 50% prior to procedures requiring me to Crotale or change my eating. It is safer to let the blood sugar run a little higher during this time rather than risking hypoglycemic episodes.

The surgeon's office gave me a list of juices-- white grape, apple, and orange and lemon with no pulp. but that's about it. I also can't have anything red, green, or purple, so that leaves out most Jell-O. I have several pills I regularly take and having a mostly full stomach eliminates stomach upset, etc. I'm wondering what I should do to keep my sugar under control? Yes, it's only a day, but the second day is the procedure, so I won't be eating or drinking anything then, either.
