This is really heart-breaking. I had wondered why we hadn't been seeing her
on this list. I remember, when I first joined, how much fun it was to find
someone that was close to my age and blind for other reasons, not diabetes.
She had a way of sharing information that was so extremely helpful without
being preachy. She truly filled this list with kindness as well. I'll
definitely miss her.
Thanks for the link to the guest book, Jamie. I've never met them but what a
blessing for them to have shared her with us. Rest in peace, Sandy. And may
your spirit eat whatever it wants.
Veronica

Hello friends! It is with a heavy heart that I share the death of my dear
friend and member of this list, Sandy Ryan. The NFB and especially the Iowa
blind community will greatly miss Sandy and her decades of service at the
Iowa Department for the Blind. Below is the link to her obituary that
includes a guestbook page if anyone cares to leave a comment for her family.
I've lost a dear friend, but the blind community has lost an amazing
advocate.

Jamie
