Looking forward to hearing from you in regards to that in a few weeks. What talkback version sare you using. If you use talkback 12 .2 or talkback 13, then you would have image/icon detection in which you can use it like the I OS voice over image /icon detection on device.

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] OmniPod first impressions

Hello Listers,

It has been a very interesting first week with the Omnipod 5 system, filled with positive hopes and some big frustrations. First off. I’ll say the set up of the OP 5 is simple and my trainer and Dr walked me through everything very well. I can change the pods and even give calculated doses with zero problems using the OP app on my Samsung S10E smart phone.
The app is about 65 to 70% accessible with Talkback. I can start/end a pod, adjust carb intake, Read current insulin on board, current CGM reading. All of the tabs for information and most menus are useable. This is a great first step in having a fully accessible insulin pump.

The app falls flat on it’s face when it comes to adjusting carb corrections, target BG, insulin sensitivity, and I am extremely lucky to have a great wife that helps with the adjustments. I will say after you find the correct correction ratios the algorithm should take over and learn from your readings and values put into the controller app.

I’ll send another email in a few weeks on my progress with the new pump.

Ed Worrell
