Nice to have a fellow podder on the list now. I think we're all going to be in that phase for awhile where we start using various medical devices, finding that smooth sidewalk and happily running till we trip over that crack or smack into that occasional slanted guide wire. And for awhile, just staying out of the storm drains, so to speak will be major progress from where we were. <grin.> The really good thing is that we're starting to get the attention of these companies and slowly, ever so slowly, we won't have to be creating so many work-arounds, acts of either bravery or stupidity, depending on which day of the week it is, or finding another working pair of eyeballs somewhere.
Of course, I do want it all. Yesterday! But I'm willing to kick the tires, make some noise and see what happens. It's going to take all of us working together, each coming from our own set of experiences, educating and changing the mindset of these companies, but we'll get there. I really believe that.
And as much as I really want the Iphone app, I admit it's kind of nice to see android users get something first for a change.
In the meantime, keep us posted on your adventures, Ed.

Hey Gary,

I am running the latest version of Talkback, it had an update to it a week ago or so. This added your previously mentioned image recognition. It helps a bit, but over all it is pretty limited, so far. All the major functions for daily operation are accessible to Talkback users. I know they are working on an update, just not sure when it will be pushed to the public.

Lets se where the progress leads . Hopefully for better acces to these sort of smart tech for managing diabetes at a lower cost .

I’ll say the set up of the OP 5 is simple and my trainer and Dr walked me through everything very well. I can change the pods and even give calculated doses with zero problems using the OP app on my Samsung S10E smart phone.

I will say after you find the correct correction ratios the algorithm should take over and learn from your readings and values put into the controller app.
